Speaking of accent walls, a single painted wall can be a good way to bring in some color in a controlled dose, especially on a wall without upper cabinets. The lower cabinets will break up the look, so you only actually have a small surface area to paint.
Kitchen seating can be a great way to add a pop of color right into the center of the space. Especially vivid hues like a bright yellow that you might not want splashed across the walls in large quantities.
